At King's, research is important. We’re a small school with a big research impact.
Roughly one third of King's faculty are actively engaged in externally funded research projects. In the last five years, King's faculty members have secured over $12 million in external research funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), and other sources. A large portion of these funds are used to hire King's students as Research Assistants. Our faculty members’ research increases our knowledge and improves our world. You can see some of this work during King’s Research Week, where we showcase the exciting work being done here at King's. Research Week includes public events, discussions and showcases; you'll find these in our event listings.
King’s backs that commitment to research with financial support: each year, our faculty members receive ample grant money to support their work. As a student, you’ll benefit from their knowledge and exploration – in the classroom as well as outside of it, where you can participate in this research. Working with faculty members in a range of disciplines, or with the Thanatology department's Loss Lab, you’ll have unique opportunities to learn, expand your skills and be mentored.
