Public History involves understanding the numerous ways in which people engage with the past and learning how to communicate it to larger audiences through a variety of ways. It is a powerful tool for understanding the forces that shape our world, and for making informed decisions as engaged, responsible citizens. This is an interdisciplinary joint program between King’s, Western and Huron.
In both programs, you’ll develop marketable skills and gain invaluable experience and contacts through groupwork, presentations, networking, and collaboration with community partners through projects, workshops, guest speakers, site visits, and experiential learning opportunities. When you graduate, your valuable skills and expertise will help you to excel in a diverse range of exciting, meaningful careers in the private and public sector, and in professional positions that will allow you to change the world around you.

What People Are Saying
"What really made the difference was my first class with Dr. Broad. That was the moment I realized: yeah, I can do a history degree. I can enjoy four years of this. The transition to university life became so much easier because King's is just so welcoming."
"If I were talking to a future student, I'd tell them to take history at King's. I've taken history classes at main campus and at Huron, and it's different. At King's, the material is more accessible, and so are your professors. You can have conversations with them that stretch across weeks. You're not just another face in a crowd."
