The Catholic Studies for Teachers (CST) program gives you a solid foundation to be a future leader in Catholic education. Blending in-class and experiential learning, the program offers you a direct pathway for entry into the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program at Western's Faculty of Education.
Help shape the future as a leader in Catholic education. Catholic Studies for Teachers is designed to provide you with a solid foundation, with courses in biblical studies, history of Christian thought and practice, prayer and sacraments, Christian ethics, and world religions. You will gain an in-depth understanding of the Catholic tradition, sharpen your critical thinking, and master effective communication. Plus, you'll explore what it means to be a Catholic educator in today’s world.
You will also have experiential learning opportunities in area Catholic schools (assisting teachers or working in the library or with special education) to give you a first-hand look at these educational institutions and their culture.
Successful completion of the program will enable you to apply to teachers college via a Direct Pathway to Western University’s Faculty of Education.
