Invest in your future, Find Your Crown

The King's Promise offers a unique guarantee: meaningful employment within six months of your graduation from King's!

“The King’s Promise program significantly enriched my King’s experience by providing practical, hands-on learning opportunities that complemented my academic studies. The support and resources offered by the King's Promise ensured I could effectively navigate my career path with confidence and clarity.” - Shuai Chen, BMOS ’24

A signature program of King’s, the King’s Promise (KP) guarantees our students meaningful employment within six months of graduation. For students who don’t find work after six months, King’s will provide additional undergraduate courses and career preparation tuition-free for up to one year after your graduation.

The King’s Promise is a four-year program that starts the moment you step onto our beautiful campus. During your undergraduate study, you’ll complete a minimum of 12 co-curricular activities. These activities are created to do the following:

  • Enhance your pre-employment skills, and the knowledge you’ve earned from your coursework.
  • Support your career development, including building your professional network and improving your confidence in interviews.
  • Allow you to engage in experiential learning opportunities.
  • Help you gain tangible workplace experience.
  • Assist you in identifying and employing your transferable skills and holistic competencies.
  • Build the foundation to become a changemaker and leader who can make a difference.

We define a “meaningful” job as a role that’s aligned with the skills, competencies, and aspirations you developed at King’s, as well as your articulated career and life goals. The job may or may not be directly related to the subject matter of your degree, but it will be related to the totality of your experience at King’s. Alternatively, if you are planning to go directly to grad school after King’s, the program will support you in achieving that goal.

The King’s Promise – for employers

The King's Promise is a commitment to our students, but it’s also a commitment to employers: King’s graduates will have the competencies, values and knowledge to advance your organization.

As an employer, you can support our King’s Promise students:

  • Offer a one-day job shadow opportunity to students
  • Create a four-month summer internship for a Social Science or Humanities student
  • Post an open position on our job board
  • Visit King’s to participate in a career fair or similar recruitment event – ask about upcoming dates.
