Felipe Rodrigues is an Associate Professor of Operations Management and Analytics at King's University College and Western University, Canada. He leverages his extensive ICU patient flow management expertise to teach Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, and Business Analytics. With his Ph.D. in Healthcare Management Science from the Ivey Business School (Western University, Canada), Dr. Rodrigues brings a unique blend of academic rigour and practical insights into his teaching and research.

A recipient of the prestigious Ontario Trillium Scholarship and the Canadian Operations Research Society Practice Prize, Dr. Rodrigues has made significant contributions to healthcare management science. His work, published in peer-reviewed journals such as Operations Research for Health Care, Critical Care Explorations, International Journal of Healthcare Management, Healthcare and Statistics and Computing, focuses on optimizing patient flows, primarily in intensive care units. His research includes developing advanced simulation models for Level 2 "step-down" beds in hospitals, pioneering forecasting techniques for ICU census, and formulating patient flow policies to enhance ICU operations and patient care quality.

More recently, Dr. Rodrigues has begun a new research stream focused on improving access to care to neurodiverse children. His new SSHRC ISG grant,  “Optimal Contract Policies for Improving Access to Child and Youth Public Services: The Case of the Ontario Autism Program (OAP),” aims to develop analytical frameworks and policy recommendations to reduce the wait time of the  OAP and improve the lives of 70,000 children with autism in Ontario.

Dr. Rodrigues has advised governments and hospitals in Canada and Brazil on COVID-19 response strategies and patient flow improvements. He’s presented his findings at national and international conferences, including CORS, ORAHS, DSI, INFORMS, and IFOR. He serves on the St. Joseph’s Health Care (London) board (quality committee) and was also a faculty advisor in the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) 's COVID-19 response.

When not immersed in his teaching and research, Dr. Rodrigues enjoys climbing (with aspirations to flash a 5.11 route soon!), collecting and listening to vinyl records, hiking, and travelling with his family.
