Felipe Rodrigues is an Associate Professor of Operations Management and Analytics at King's University College at Western University, Canada, where he blends academic rigour with real-world impact. With a Ph.D. in Healthcare Management Science from Ivey Business School and deep expertise in ICU patient flow optimization, Dr. Rodrigues teaches Operations Management, Supply Chain, and Business Analytics, focusing on systems thinking and practical application.

A recipient of the Ontario Trillium Scholarship and the Canadian Operational Research Society Practice Prize, Felipe’s research has appeared in journals such as Operations Research for Health Care, Critical Care Explorations, Statistics and Computing, and others. His work spans simulation models for hospital “step-down” beds, ICU census forecasting, and dynamic patient flow policies; all designed to improve care access and delivery.

More recently, Dr. Rodrigues has launched a new research stream focused on improving access to care for neurodiverse children. His SSHRC-funded project, “Optimal Contract Policies for Improving Access to Child and Youth Public Services,” addresses wait times in Ontario’s Autism Program using game theory and analytics to shape more equitable care policy.

Beyond the academy, Felipe has advised hospitals and government bodies in Canada and Brazil, including during the COVID-19 crisis. He serves on the Quality Committee of St. Joseph’s Health Care London and was a faculty advisor at LHSC.

At heart, Felipe is a systems thinker committed to solving big problems through analytical precision and human-centred design. When he’s not immersed in research, you’ll find him climbing (working on that 5.11!), spinning vinyl, hiking, or travelling with his wife, son, and their furry crew of cats and a dog.
