Study Space
The library is your place to study, work and collaborate. With seating for over 450, it provides space for all varieties of academic endeavour from quiet study to active collaboration.
The main floor is the library’s Learning Commons. In addition to its learning support services there are 12 workstations providing access to the library catalogue, to thousands of electronic resources and the internet, each with a full complement of licensed word processing and productivity software. Study space includes group study rooms of various sizes, two and four person tables, wired work spaces accommodating quiet collaborative activities or individual study, access lab, video viewing rooms and quiet conversation lounges.
The second floor is dedicated to silent study. Cell phones are turned off and voices are low. Here you will find wired and individually lighted carrels and tables in the natural light of large windows. Nine enclosed, individual study rooms and two of the library’s eight group study rooms are located on the second floor. 11 of the library’s 23 internet stations are situated next to the Office of the Director of Libraries. There is an Access Lab on each floor.
