Noise Policy

The main floor of the library is a busy Learning Commons and has been designated a Conversation Friendly Zone where a variety of services are provided. Interactions between library staff and library users are necessary and encouraged, and the need for 'conversation friendly' collaboration among library users is respected. Electronics are used at low volume or with headphones. Cell phone use is allowed only in the library's entrance lobby.

Those requiring a quiet study space are encouraged to use the second floor where both a Quiet Zone (northwest corner) and Silent Zone (except northwest corner) are offered. Cell phones are turned off and students are asked to be mindful of sounds from electronic devices which may be disruptive to others.
