Bridging Assistant Applications
King’s International Bridging Assistant Position, 2024 - 2025
Position Objective:
Welcome and assist international and exchange students new to King’s to adapt to university life and Canadian culture.
Time Commitment:
Must be available from Sunday, August 25 to Sunday, September 1, 2024
Training:
Bridging Assistants attend a mandatory day of training, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with King’s International and assist with all aspects of the Bridging Program
- Work with fellow Bridging Assistants to organize events for incoming students
- Act as an orientation leader for incoming International students
- Guide students on off-campus and out-of-town excursions
- Be at welcome booth throughout the week
Qualifications:
- Cross-cultural competency, understanding, and sensitivity
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Time management and multi-tasking abilities
- Flexibility, open-mindedness and good interpersonal skills
- Initiative, enthusiasm and dependability
