Most first year courses are three hours a week. Students should be expecting to spend an extra two to three hours per week on assignments and studying per course.

The City of London is the 15th largest city in Canada and home to approximately 366,000 people. Known as the Forest City, London has an incredible number of parks and green spaces as well as over 30 kilometers of bike and walking trails. On most weekends throughout the summer, you can expect to find a multitude of festivals and concerts and throughout the year, there are many sporting events and shows hosted by a variety of venues including The Budweiser Gardens, the Grand Theatre, the Fringe Festival and many private clubs.

Students admitted to King's University College must be proficient in written and spoken English. Applicants for whom English is not their first language and who have not lived or studied in an English language environment for a period of at least three years will be required to demonstrate English Proficiency either by completing an English Proficiency test or completing one of our partner English as a Second Language Programs.

For an applicant to qualify as a Mature Student they must have no basis of admission. They cannot have attended another educational institution full-time in the past four years. Students must have a minimum C average in each course attempted within the last three years. The applicant must be 21 years of age and a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident. Mature applicants will provide a letter of reference and a personal statement outlining their goals and why they are prepared for success in university.

Students at accredited Universities and Ontario Colleges may be eligible for transfer credit. Students must meet the minimum admissions requirements for their admission type. College transfer students may be eligible for a maximum of 5.0 transfer credit. University transfer students may be eligible for 10.0 transfer credit. Individual courses may be eligible for transfer credit if over 60% has been achieved. Transfer credit will be assessed during the admissions process and is based on the credits completed and the marks achieved.

King’s has partnered with Fanshawe College and Lambton College to create pathways through transfer credit agreements in a number of programs.

Yes, we will accept documentation and transcripts prior to an application being submitted. We will not make any admission decisions until all required documentation, transcripts and the application are received.

The application opens in October of each year. Students apply using the Ontario Universities Application Centre online application. Instructions on how to apply can be found here http://futurestudents.kings.uwo.ca/admissions/application-process/

King’s will receive your application from the Ontario Universities Application Centre about a week after you apply. A confirmation email will be sent to you explaining next steps in the process and any required supporting documentation.

We start sending out offers of admission in January and continue to do so on a rolling basis until programs are full. The majority of eligible Ontario High School students will receive an offer of admission in May.

Please follow the instructions in your acknowledgement email to activate your King's/Western ID. Using this number, you will be able to login to the Western Student Centre at student.uwo.ca which will allow you to view the status of your application.  Please note, the Student Centre only lists the required documents needed for applications to Western’s Main Campus.  Please review your acknowledgement email sent by King’s to see which documents are outstanding and needed to complete your admission file. We encourage students to upgrade marks that will be included in their admission average. We will accept the strongest grade achieved in a course taken more than one time. We want to see that you have developed the skills and knowledge to be prepared for success in university. This development is a process and may not be achieved on a first attempt. 

Privacy legislation requires that we may only speak to an applicant directly about their application. We cannot discuss specific applications with parents, guardians, teachers or guidance counsellors. We are happy to provide general information on programs, admissions process and requirements.

Accepted students will receive an offer package in the mail. The inside flap of this offer package will include next steps for students.  Instructions are included on how to activate their Western email. Information on registration and student services and campus news will be sent to this account so it is important students regularly check their Western email throughout the summer.

Students will also receive instructions on how to accept their offer.

Instructions will be provided on how to access our Residence application.

During this appointment students will meet with an Academic Counsellor to discuss program options, choose courses and build their timetables. Students will also receive their Western Student ID during this appointment. SAO registration information will be provided in the offer package.

Three-year and four-year degrees are offered. Students receiving transfer credit may be able to reduce the time it takes to complete a degree. Time to complete a degree can be discussed with an Academic Counsellor once an offer of admission has been made and transfer credit assessed.

In late Summer a textbook list will be available through The Bookstore at Western. Students must have their schedule to complete a textbook search. Textbooks can be bought through The Bookstore at Western.

Students are guaranteed Residence if they complete their residence application and deposit by the Residence deadline.

If you and a friend wish to share a room, please indicate this in your application. Every attempt is made to accommodate location and roommate preferences, however, these cannot be guaranteed. We know you might be a little nervous about sharing a room with someone new to you. Rest at ease, matches are made based on the information you provide in your residence application and students overwhelmingly enjoy a positive relationship with their roommate.
