Interdisciplinary Studies 3991A/B/Y
INTERNSHIP IN THE SOCIAL SCIENCES
A 4-month summer placement with an organization of interest (this may be in government, nonprofit, private sector, etc.) to provide a practical learning experience.
Prerequisite(s): Applicants must have an average of at least 70% and be enrolled in an Honours Specialization, Specialization or Major module in the Social Sciences. Students must currently be in 2nd or 3rd year and entering 3rd or 4th year after the summer.
Tuition: Tuition fee for a 0.5 credit course will apply, plus an internship fee of $125.00.
Additional Information: The internship provides you with 0.5 course credits as well as valuable workplace experience, work-integrated learning, and an opportunity to expand your professional network. This is a pass/fail course - a mid-point check-in (prompted reflection exercise) and a final reflective paper (1800 words) are required.
Notes: International students should consult with King's International to ensure their study permit allows for full time summer work.

MOS 3490/3491/3492
INTERNSHIP IN MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL STUDIES
Preparatory workshops and an 8-month/9 to 12-month/13 to 16-month industry placement to acquire practical professional learning experience.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Current MOS student who is completing third year
- Successful completion of Business 2257 or MOS2227A/B, MOS2228A/B
- Good standing with the School of MEM and the Academic Dean's Office
- At least a 70% average in second year
- Permitted to work in Canada
Additional Information: Following the industry placement, interns must complete a written report and oral presentation on work undertaken during the internship.
Notes: This is a 1.0 credit, Pass/Fail course and is open to both domestic and International students. This credit can be included in the number of courses counted toward a MOS degree as a 1.0 elective course.
