Phase B - Preparation of Return to Campus
The timing of the second transition from A to B is based upon the guidelines dictated by the Province and by the Middlesex Health Unit. When they deem it safe to return, we shall do so.
Overall Objective: Prepare campus for Phase C
Goal 1: Preparations to ensure faculty and students are equipped, prepared and supported for blended/online classes in Phase C
Goal 2: Slowly increase traffic and physical presence – as needed - on campus
Goal 3: Protect the health and safety of faculty, staff, and students who will be physically present on campus
Goal 4: Prepare classrooms to be outfitted for blended learning
Goal 5: Prepare campus for traffic flow in Phase C
Goal 6: Communicate completed plans, policies, and processes
Possible timeline: 2-4 weeks
Campus-wide plans, policies, or procedures that will be completed include remote and in-office working protocols, communications, research activity, use of classrooms, sanitization, PPE/social distancing meeting/events, operation of King’s International office, traffic flow, residence, fall orientation, use of common space, health self-assessment, accommodations, services including library, counselling, finance, accessibility, admissions, campus ministry, food services and security.
Outline of what to expect in Phase B
- Begin returning employees to campus on a limited basis to reopen services on campus
- Employees should only return if it is necessary for them to be physically on campus to open/offer the service/department
- Where possible staff and faculty should continue to work from home
- Traffic flow mapping includes markers on floors/common spaces
- Physical distancing markers placed across campus
- Installation of plexi-glass and touchless computer screens at service desks
- Ordering large quantity of reusable masks for distribution to staff, faculty, students
- All regular services available in the summer will be open and available:
- In-person services available, where necessary, on limited basis with minimal staffing
- Services available virtually including Summer Academic Orientation, Admissions and Academic Counselling
- Clear lineup areas for in-person services identified and designated
- Virtual services available, including virtual queues for individuals waiting for in-person services
- Library begin opening on a limited basis (curbside pickup) to prepare for Phase C
- ITS preparing applicable classrooms to be used in blended learning format
- Training for all faculty and staff regarding new procedures
- Campus ministry offering liturgies and in accordance with directions/guidelines from the Diocese of London
