A panel of distinguished alumnae, moderated by Dr. Erin Hannah, will discuss topics related to women in law and public policy. Following the panel discussion, alumni and students are invited to a networking reception. Light appetizers and beverages will be served.

Chair & President MediproCanada Inc., Honourable Sheila Copps & Assoc. Inc.
In 1984, Sheila was elected Member of Parliament for the riding of Hamilton East and was re-elected in five successive elections. She was the first woman to ever hold the position of Deputy Prime Minister and served for ten years in the federal cabinet, both as Minister of the Environment and Minister of Canadian Heritage. From her work on diversity and inclusion, protection of the environment, and support for young Canadians and women, Sheila has had a storied career and left an indelible mark on Canadian public policy.
Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs for OLG
Prior to joining OLG in March 2024, Michelle was Vice President, Public Affairs at the Ontario Chamber of Commerce where she led an exceptional expansion of the organization’s impact and reach throughout the province. She was also involved in developing and implementing strategic and risk management plans that led to material growth in organizational revenues over her tenure.
Director, International Telecoms and Internet Policy at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada
Government leader with expertise in developing partnerships between government and private sector, including through negotiations, policy development and stakeholder engagement. Monika trained as a lawyer, and has developed and advanced approaches on emerging domestic and international policy issues, including copyright, internet governance, Indigenous trade, and environment.
Junior Policy Analyst at C.D. Howe Institute
Tingting works both in human capital and health policy research. Her research interest focuses on immigration, women’s workforce development, labour shortages, and other labour market concerns. She also researches policy issues related to healthcare in Canada such as primary care, senior care, and pharmacare.
