2017 Centre for Creativity Events
On October 4, 2017, London's poet laureate Tom Cull presented a talk and delighted the audience with a reading that focused on his most recent collection, Bad Animals. His animated reading was very well received and prompted a spirited discussion. Co-hosted by The Write Place.
On November 1, 2017, the Centre for Creativity and The Write Place co-hosted a reading and discussion by visiting author Laurie Graham. Her presentation stimulated an excellent conversation about the creative process, editing, inspiration, and the dedication and persistence required by writers and artists.
On November 10, 2017, award-winning London musician Frank Ridsdale performed and presented a lecture that traced the long history of songs being used to stir up social action and commemorated efforts to create social justice, from Robin Hood to the blues, from the folk era to contemporary punk and rap music.
