Engage in an interactive forum where experts share insights, tips, and advice on key topics including research ethics, EDID in research, work-integrated learning opportunities, and second-level knowledge mobilization to promote a culture of continuous learning and inclusivity within King’s research.

Monday, March 25: Research Ethics
An interactive forum where experts share insights, tips, and advice on the research ethics. Special attention will be paid to the top 5 issues with research ethics protocols and strategies for addressing them. Presenters will also discuss the involvement of students in research and best practices for developing student-centered research ethics protocols. Lunch to be provided.

Tuesday, March 26: Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Decolonization in Research
Dr. Alex Levine, an Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Decolonization (EDID) Research Specialist and a member of the Inclusive Research Excellence and Impact Team at Western University, will lead this Lunch and Learn session. The session aims to provide participants with an understanding of the essential background and concepts of equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization, specifically in research. Dr. Levine will discuss effectively integrating these principles into research design and research practice. Additionally, participants will gain insights into incorporating them into their funding applications.
Wednesday, March 27: Research as Work-Integrated Learning Opportunities for Students
Jenny Richmond-Bravo, King's Experiential Learning Coordinator and King's Promise Developer, will lead this Lunch and Learn session in collaboration with King's students. This session offered both as part of King's Research Week and CEWIL Canada's Work-Integrated Learning Month, highlights how student involvement with research can be a form of Work Integrated Learning (WIL). An overview of WIL and its benefits for student career development will be presented, along with real stories shared by King's students touching on the intersection of WIL and student research.
Thursday, March 28: Second-Level Knowledge Mobilization
Join us for an engaging Lunch and Learn session focused on advancing second level knowledge mobilization strategies. Explore innovative approaches and best practices for effectively disseminating research findings beyond academia to broader audiences and stakeholders. During this interactive session, participants will have the opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas on various strategies, including community engagement, collaboration with policymakers, and leveraging digital platforms for knowledge translation. Lunch will be served.
