Philosophy for today's world: Simone Weil in an age of inattention

Join us for this thought-provoking talk by a King's alumna, Dr. Kathryn Lawson.

Dr. Lawson is a Faculty Fellow and Lecturer in Philosophy and Humanities at the University of King's College, Halifax, NS. She's also an alumna of King's in London, ON (philosophy '15). Dr. Lawson received her Ph.D. in Philosophy from Queen's University, Kingston, ON, and teaches and writes in the areas of environmental ethics, philosophy of religion, social and political thought, and aesthetics.

Her book Ecological Ethics and the Philosophy of Simone Weil: Decreation for the Anthropocene (2024) was published by Routledge. She also co-edited Hannah Arendt and Simone Weil: Unprecedented Conversations (2024) with another King's alumnus, Joshua Livingstone.
