Learning language without trying: Probing the brain's ability to implicitly extract linguistic patterns

Join Dr. Laura Batterink as she shares the research done at her Cognitive Neuroscience of Learning and Language Lab (batterinklab.com) on the common regularities in languages, and how we unconsciously learn and process these patterns outside of awareness. Using a myriad of cognitive neuroscience methods, this talk will explore the differences in learning language patterns between children and adults, and how these processes work during regular sleep cycles.

This topic is meant for students with a keen interest in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and speech-language pathology who are curious what niched academic and career pathways are available to them. You can also add what you learn in this talk to your resume or CV.
