Deepa Rajagopalan

Deepa Rajagopalan is the author of the short story collection, Peacocks of Instagram, a finalist for the 2024 Giller prize. She won the 2021 PEN Canada New Voices Award for the title story of the collection. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Guelph.

    In this event, Deepa Rajagopalan will deliver a lecture-style workshop in creative writing where she will talk about craft-based strategies in choosing the correct perspective and point of view in short fiction. Deepa will interlace her own experience in writing short fiction and will also talk about how her stories touches the themes of belonging and home.

The event will also feature Rajagopalan reading from her work, as well as a Q and A with the audience.
