The world comes to King's
January 4, 2019
Welcome new international students.
On January 4, 2019 King’s welcomes new students from around the world as part of the International Students’ Winter Bridging Program.
There are 22 students from Australia, Russia, Sweden, Brazil, India, Korea, France, Austria, Ecuador and China are taking part in the program.
The King’s International Students’ Winter Bridging Program provides an opportunity for new international students to become comfortable with King’s before beginning classes on January 7th. It is a combination of academic orientation, practical workshops and fun activities, organized by Dr. Linda Weber, Manager, King’s International and Maggie Burton, Exchange and International Student Advisor, King’s International.
During the Winter Bridging Program students attend presentations from Student Services, University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) and Financial Services. As well, they take a tour of the King’s campus including the G. Emmett Cardinal Carter Library, residence and The Write Place.
There is also a social aspect to the day as students take part in icebreakers, have lunch on campus and dinner at Jack Astor’s Restaurant. The program also includes a social night in the Vitali Lounge.
