"The diversity of our students makes us stronger"
October 18, 2019
Members of the King’s community presented scholarships to five students, recently arrived in Canada, who attend high school in London. The presentation was part of the 8th Annual London Multicultural Community Association Gala, held at the Polish Combatants Hall on October 6.
The students are nominated by their school or teach and must be excellent students who are active in their school as mentors, volunteers, leaders, athletes or club member. The scholarships are made possible from the LMCA scholarship fund, supported by King’s and WIL Employment Connections, which also presented a scholarship.
Representing King’s was Dr. David Malloy, Principal; Marilyn Mason, Vice-Principal, Enrolment Services and Strategic Partnerships; Dr. Bharati Sethi, Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work; Dr. Sauro Camiletti, Vice President and Academic Dean; Mrs. Marilyn Camiletti, and students Bharati Bharati, First Year Social Sciences, Nistha Chakraborty Third Year Psychology Honours and Western Thought and Civilization and Yatra Kacha, First Year BMOS.
“King’s is fortunate to have some many students from the London community and by partnering with the London Multicultural Community Association, we believe it demonstrates our commitment. In addition, King’s welcome many students who are new to Canada, or are the first to be educated at university and come from diverse backgrounds. The diversity of our students makes us stronger and our commitment to inclusion provides a welcoming environment,” says Mason.
