Social Work Professor awarded for his work and research

Dr. Andrew Mantulak, associate professor at King’s University College is the recipient of the 2016 Jane Dicks Award for excellence in Nephrology Social Work.
This award is presented as an acknowledgement of significant achievement within the profession of Nephrology social work in Canada. It honours Jane Dicks who was instrumental in developing Nephrology Social Work as a specialized field in Canada.
When he was notified about being the recipient for the award, Dr. Mantulak was “both extremely honored and humbled to be mentioned in the same breath as someone who gave so much to Nephrology and specifically Nephrology social work.”
Dr. Mantulak was chosen for his “significant contributions to the advancement of Paediatric Nephrology education and research in the field of Social Work as well as his role in the Faculty of Social Work at King's College,” says Canadian Association of Nephrology Social Workers President, Michelle Jensen. “I am also pleased to note that he knew Jane Dicks personally, meeting her early in his career as a Nephrology social worker.”
King’s Principal, Dr. David Sylvester presented the award to Dr. Matulak at a ceremony held at King’s University College on April 12, 2017.
