King's professor Dr. Rachel Birnbaum receives Stanley Cohen Distinguished Research Award

Dr. Rachel Birnbaum, cross appointed in Childhood & Social Institutions & Social Work received the 2014, Stanley Cohen Distinguished Research Award from the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (an international group of family justice professionals). The award is based on the recognition of outstanding research and/or research achievements in the field of family and divorce.

In addition, Dr. Birnbaum and her interdisciplinary colleagues from law, psychology and social work successfully obtained a SSHRC grant over the next 5 years (2014-2019) to examine outcomes for children and families in the family justice system and access to justice.
