June 29, 2017
A group of 30 students from King’s partner school, Kangnam University in South Korea are visiting King’s for 3 weeks as part of the Canadian Summer Experience ESL & Interactive Workshops for University Students program.
This program provides ESL instruction, cultural immersion and a lecture series by King’s faculty: Dr. Linda Weber, Professor Patrick Morley, Professor Jeremy Greenway, and Dr. Andrea Lawlor. Topics include weird English, 10 things you should know about Canada, cross-cultural Canada and others.
Kangnam University has been sending students to King’s since the early 2000s.
Dr. Chansoo Cho, the faculty member who is accompanying the students, calls the program “extraordinary.” He also said that King’s partnership is “a very successful model in providing global reach for Kangnam students in terms of language training and cultural experience."
During their stay in Canada, the group will be taking part in campus events, FC London games, the London International Food Festival as well as iconic Ontario experiences like Niagara Falls, Canada’s Wonderland and the CN Tower. The students will live in King’s residence during their stay in Canada.
