King's welcomes Kangnam University students

King’s is pleased to welcome 16 students from Kangnam University, visiting from June 25-July 24, 2019 as part of an academic and experiential program.
During their stay at King’s, the students from Kangnam University are attending lectures on Canadian culture and communication conducted by:
- Dr. Linda Weber, Manager, King’s International
- Natalie Mak, Senior Liaison Officer
- Dr. Vidya Natarajan, Writing Program Coordinator
- Maggie Burton, Exchange and International Student Advisor, King’s International
- Professor Jeremy Greenway, Lecturer, Department of English, French, and Writing
- Professor Patrick Morley, Lecturer, Department of English, French, and Writing
- Emma Swatik, Head Researcher of Information at the Cardinal Carter Library
The program also provides English as a Second Language instruction.
King’s International also has several social outings planned for the visiting students. They will enjoy Canada Day festivities and tour King’s and Western University’s campuses. They will also take part in a scavenger hunt, laser tag, paint night and trivia night. They will visit East Park, Canada’s Wonderland, Niagara Falls, the CN Tower, Eaton Centre, Ripley’s Aquarium, Masonville Place, Victoria Park, Covent Garden Market, and Labatt Park.

Our partnership with Kangnam University allows King's to strengthen our relationships worldwide. We've been fortunate to host students from Kangnam over the past few summers. King's Summer Programs not only provides the visiting students the opportunity to learn about Canada but it also provides the King's community to broaden our horizons and learn more about our partner institutions,” says Olivia Yusuf '15, International Program Coordinator.
The visit is part of a long-standing international partnership between King’s and Kagnam University, a private Christian school located in Yongin, South Korea. The partnership between the two schools allows students to study abroad and experience different cultures.
