King’s University College wishes Jean Francois Gnemmi farewell and happy retirement after serving as the Head Chef for 12 years. Thank you for providing our staff, students, and faculty with quality meals and overall fantastic dining experience.

As one person’s journey at King’s comes to an end, another person’s journey begins. Here at King’s University College, we wish to welcome new head chef Lester Hornilla to the King’s community.

Lester will be joining the Aramark food services staff and King’s University College in September. An opportunity that Lester is looking forward to, “is to continue to do what I love to do, and that is to ‘cook good food and to get to know the community of King’s University College.” Lester has always experienced love for cooking. That landed him working in some of the top restaurants around the country.

Before coming to King’s University College, Lester studied Culinary Management at Fanshawe College and later became a Culinary Instructor himself and a Lab Technician.

King’s University College will shift from a self-service model to a take-out model, “I must say that these are strange times for all. This is something that none of us has had to navigate through, but I trust in the operations of both King’s University College and Aramark to put in place safety procedures and practices for everyone involved to feel safe and protected, and I am here to assist in all that is needed to make sure that everyone feels protected,” says Lester.

When not working, Lester likes to spend time outside often with his family and his dog named Charles. Or you can catch Lester in the kitchen trying out new recipes.
