King's varsity basketball players head to quarter finals

The Mustangs men’s basketball team ended the regular season with a 15-9 record to sit second in the OUA West, allowing them a first round playoff bye. This week will see them take on the third ranked Windsor Lancers at Alumni Hall in a quarter-final matchup.
Eight King’s students are on the team’s roster: Dean Andrade, Eriq Jenkins, Romeo Kabongo, Marko Kovac, Oleksandr Otzyv, Damiann Prehay, Omar Shiddo, and Julian Walker.
Throughout the season, Shiddo and Kovac have led the Mustangs offensively. Shiddo averages 14.6 points per game. Kovac averages 14.5 points per game. On average, the team has 11.7 steals per game. This effort is led by two players, one of which is Jenkins.
The Mustangs typically limit their opponents to only seven steals. The Mustangs face Windsor on Saturday, February 24 at 2 p.m. Tune in live on OUA.tv and Radio Western 94.9 FM.
On the women's side, the Mustangs will face McMaster at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 23. King's Mackenzie Puklicz is usually the team's highest scoring athlete. She led the team through the regular season with an average of 18 points per game to total 431 throughout the season.
The Mustangs finished the regular season as the OUA West's fifth-ranked team. The team has a record of 13-11.
