As a part of experiential learning course, Religious Studies – Inculturation and Spirituality, students are accompanying Father Michael Bechard to Pine Channel and Fond-du-Lac. These First Nation communities are located on Lake Athabasca in Northern Saskatchewan.
This unique, annual journey allows students to engage with Canada’s Denesuline (Dene) indigenous community and to learn about their faith and way of life in a remote area.
Students in the Catholic Studies for Teachers, Social Justice and Peace Studies, or Social Work programs can take this course focused on faith and understanding between different communities of people.
King’s wishes Father Michael and his students a safe and blessed journey and hopes they learn and grow during their two-week adventure.
