Dr. Peter Donahue elected president of Ontario Association of Social Workers
April 9, 2018
Dr. Peter Donahue has recently been elected as president of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). He, along with the new Board, will be introduced at the Annual General Meeting on May 4, 2018.
Long-time field friend and past field instructor with the School of Social Work at King’s, Patrick Fleming, was elected as the OASW Treasurer-Secretary. “Patrick’s long experience on the Board will be most helpful,” said Ellen Mesbur, Chair of the Nominating Committee.
The OASW is a bilingual organization that provides a voice for social workers in Ontario. OASW has approximately 5200 members and 15 branches across the province.
This Board of Directors’ election had a robust response to the online ballots with a record number of OASW members voting in the three elections.
Congratulations on your appointment, Dr. Donahue.
