King’s was well represented at the 2015 Catholic Studies Department National Education Conference in Curitiba, Brazil from July 16-18. Larry Langan, Catholic Studies for Teachers (CST) Professor and Coordinator of Service Learning for CST, attended the conference, gave a presentation and met with post-secondary leaders on behalf of King’s. The conference, the largest Catholic Education Conference in Brazil, was held at Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná, Curitiba. Mr. Langan addressed the topic of Catholic Education from an Ontario perspective. In addition to presenting, Professor Langan was also engaged in a number of meetings with various potential Brazilian partners. It is anticipated that groups of students and educational leaders will be travelling to Ontario as result of these meetings.
King’s has already established partnerships with several Brazilian institutions, and is the first North American University to sign an agreement with ANEC, the National Association of Catholic Education in Brazil. ANEC was a lead sponsor for the conference.
