MSW student Joe Antone recognized with best student paper award at national Social Work conference

Joe Antone, a full-time Master of Social Work student, has been awarded an Outstanding Student Presentation Proposal award by the Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE) at their annual conference in Ottawa in June. Joe presented his paper, First Nations Real Voice: Building Cultural Bridges, Young Leaders, and Knowledge Through Participatory Action at the conference.
Joe previously graduated from the Bachelor of Social Work program at King’s in 2014. He is pictured here at the conference with King’s faculty Siu Ming Kwok and Dora Tam, MSW Practicum and program liaison Kylene Dube, Jenna Rensink Dexter, MSW graduate, and Lorraine Royal, BSW student. Also attending the conference from King’s School of Social Work was M.K. Arundel along with several other students.
