Veronica Harrigan named to Rugby Canada's U20 team

RICHMOND HILL, Ont. - After a standout introductory season with the Mustangs, King's College student Veroncia Harrigan will don Team Canada colours as she was one of 26 athletes named to Rugby Canada's U20 team.

The team will travel across the pond to take on their English counterparts in a three-day series with games scheduled for August 18, 22, and 26 at Nottingham's Trent College. The venue previously served as the host of the 2013 U20 Nations Cup where Canada went undefeated to capture the title.

Herrigan's appointment comes after a rookie season that saw her dominate the field from her first game. She burst onto the field in the Mustangs season opener, recording 15 points to top the scoresheet and lead the Mustangs over the Waterloo Warriors.

The Lucan native is expected to make an equally strong statement when she hits the field wearing red and white.
