Dr. Kerr provides background on low fertility rate stats
A new Statistics Canada report that shows that the Canadian fertility rate has hit its lowest level since data began being collected more than a century ago. Dr. Don Kerr, Professor of Sociology, contributed his expertise in demographics to several news outlets. Dr. Kerr says that the COVID-19 pandemic and economic uncertainty may be behind the reason for Canada's low birth rates. He adds that Canada has relied on immigration in maintaining population growth.
