Sam Frankel is Associate Professor in Childhood and Youth Studies, a Visiting Fellow at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK and Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Education, Western University, Canada. Sam is passionate about breaking down barriers between theory and practice reflected in recent publications including Giving Children a Voice (2018), Negotiating Childhoods (2017) and recent co-edited collections, Bringing Children Back into the Family (2020), Contextualizing Childhoods (2018) as well as through involvement in children’s voice organisations EquippingKids www.equippingkids.org. Sam is the series editor for Emerald Studies in Child Centred Practice. Sam has 20 years experience of leading research, development and knowledge transfer projects with children in schools, homes and in the wider community, with initiatives in the UK and Canada
